¡10 WeCoCo diversity hacks!

How to get from talking about diversity and a more inclusive environment to actually making it happen.

Mention diversity in the workplace and you’ll generally get a positive response from executives. That’s because most of them understand the many benefits of a diverse workforce. They know 1) innovation and 2) terrific customer service are two key ways any company can stay competitive in tough markets and show consistent revenue growth.

Do you want to reshape diversity and inclusion? This is how we do it at WeCoCo:

  1. Be courageous, open and engage with the unknown.

  2. Remember that diversity is not just "political correctness". Be the change — together with your target group(s).

  3. Reduce unconscious stereotypes — combat the unconscious bias! Just talking about it does not change anything — actions and changes are imperative. What's your action plan?

  4. Stand up for meritocracy. Use more artificial intelligence (AI) in HR and take bias out of hiring since this resulted in its most diverse crop of candidates yet.
    A meritocracy makes things diverse.

  5. Make the difference with micro-actions. Justice, inclusion and equality is something we cannot solve with a single, comprehensive measure.

  6. Collect data and analyse it. Look at where exclusion or disadvantage occurs.

  7. Create a culture where people feel empowered to speak up. Make a environment where people feel empowered to speak up when they’re uncomfortable. Sometimes it’s about removing a toxic person, too.

  8. Remember that this is not just about diversity. It is about values and beliefs.

  9. Your mantra: Diversity and inclusion is the responsibility of everyone - including you!

  10. Follow the WeCoCo advice: Be curious, develop yourself further and become more diverse. Think different — do different!

DIVERSITY IS

NOT A LUXURY

PROBLEM THAT

YOU CAN DEAL

WITH LATER.

Do you agree? — Then we should talk!
